Network Marketing Success - Program Your Mind

This was written by my friend and mentor Michael Dlouhy:

Your mind is being programmed everyday. Either you're doing it yourself, or somebody else is. If you're not in charge, then you'll really struggle for success in network marketing.

Are you letting the radio, the TV, the internet, the newspaper, or friends & family program you? If you are, then you are definitely being programmed for lack & limitation.

If you're in your car with the radio on, that radio has a tuner. You can tune in hundreds of radio stations. Those radio waves bombard you with negativity all day long. You are being programmed.

Do you turn the TV on and just leave it on while you're home? Again, you're getting constant programming. This stuff, at best, is trivial. At the worst, it's very, very negative.

And when you're programmed with negative garbage by radio & TV several hours a day, 7 days a week, 4 weeks a month, 12 months a year, year after year after year - it takes a toll. You develop a negative outlook on life and your MLM business - often without even knowing it.

Learn To Program Yourself
What happens with your mind, subconsciously, when negative friends & family members are talking to you? You are being programmed.

For you to have the success you want and deserve in life, it's critical that you learn to block out this garbage. That's why when we coach people, we have them plug into a 30-day mental cleanse, so you can turn off the chatter.

We started this mental cleanse not too long ago. And yet, I have had many, many dozens of emails from participants, telling me that it has totally changed their lives. You can get more details on the 30 Day Mental Cleanse from Tracey, whose information is at the end of this letter.
Success Requires That You Get Rid of the Negativity Forever

It's critical that you be honest with yourself. Do you want MLM business success so much that you're willing to pay the price of giving up TV, giving up radio, giving up negativity for 30 days?
If you participate in this process for just 30 days, it will change your life. You will learn to stop both the constant external chatter and the constant internal mental chatter - and to start reprogramming yourself with positive self-talk.

How To Stop The Negative Chatter In Your Brain
First, you learn to train yourself to turn off that external negativity. That bit of negative programming you run into everywhere can bring you down for days and make you doubt yourself. You've got to stop that from happening.

Next, you learn to re-program your brain with positive self-talk. For instance, here is what I use:

"I am having fun, building the largest, most profitable, highest-retention organization ever built in the history of network marketing, easily and consistently through education and teamwork."

That's my self-talk. When I'm out in the field mowing, bush-hogging with the tractor, that's what I'm saying to myself. Anytime I'm driving somewhere, that is my self-talk.

When I first started using this particular self-talk, I probably said it 100-200 times a day. Now, the whole 27-word phrase is just a subconscious thing, repeating in my mind, over and over and over. It blocks out all the other chatter.

And the reason that's so powerful is, when you stop the chatter, you can truly, truly listen to people. And THAT is the skill that is so critical to your success in both business & personal relationships.

Will Michael Dlouhy's System Work A Year from Now?

Everything changes. Who knows if the "Success In 10 Steps" prospect recruiting system will work a year from now?

But what I do know is - it worked 4 years ago, when we first offered it.

==> And 3 years ago.==> And 2 years ago.==> And last year.

And it sure works now.

Absolutely, things will change. Unfortunately, neither you nor I know for sure exactly WHAT will change. When you're looking for a productive MLM lead generation system, your best bet is to look at what has worked well in the past, and decide what principles are important to you in a leads system.

Personally, I think a system that targets "frustrated MLMers" has a good chance to be eternal.
I can't imagine a world where there aren't a ton of frustrated MLMers looking for a solution to their problems. And trust me, that is one VERY hot market.

Do You Know Your Target Market?

I look at people's marketing websites all the time.

I love to surf the web (probably waste too much time doing it!)

What I have found is that I can tell when they are offering "something worthwhile", because I am already getting the same "something worthwhile" from my team at Mentoring for Free. What Michael Dlouhy has put together for us covers everything from every imaginable sort of training to self-improvement and he will tell you the truth about everything out there on the internet.

Michael does a lot of the training himself, for free. He does it to help people. He teaches people how to get rid of the greed and ego, how to reach people from the heart.

I am just a person, like you, who got tired of being abused by everything "questionable" on the internet.

I will still look at websites because I am learning new ways to market every day. But, Michael has taught me how to look at opportunities with a "critical eye" and not buy into everything that "looks good".

You've Strayed from the Herd

Among my favorite television programs are those gorgeous HD shows on Discovery which are basically chronicles of natural life. They're always filled with inspiring beauty and occasionally a life lesson or two. For example, watching the migrating herds of gazelle crossing the Serengeti, there's always one that strays from the herd and BAM it gets taken out by a pack of lions. Moral of the story: Don't stray from the herd.

For us, being connected to community and not straying away is also a good idea. Especially a community like ours where pretty much everyone holds the intention of making healthy changes in their lives which make a difference in the lives of others. The strength of a group of people who hold a similar intention cannot be underestimated. There's the advantage of being able to give and receive support and encouragement. There's the added benefit of accountability and camaraderie. And there's the power of the unconditional group support. The advantages of this type of fellowship have been well known for hundreds, even thousands of years; and now, even modern science is verifying the positive effects.

Remember the importance of "right environments" and realize that people are a very big part of that. We become what we surround ourselves with, to a very significant extent; and without healthy, open, honest and transforming people in our lives, it's hard to achieve our goals. Yet the opposite is also true – we do well at making challenging changes in our lives when we're connected to others who are making challenging changes in theirs.

Whether your goals include losing weight, building a business empire, working through a bout of depression, or reaching a new personal best, connecting with a supportive, positive, unconditional community where others are seeking the same or similar victories is essential. More and more we're realizing that significant and meaningful transformation in our lives is something that we can't achieve on our own. We need help from others to succeed, and we also need the opportunity to be of help to others to succeed. Yet sometimes we behave as if that weren't so. And we stray from the herd/community and try to go it alone. There again is a sign of transformation trouble.

Are you connected to and active in a community that supports the challenging changes that you're trying to make in your life? Are you both giving and receiving support and encouragement within such a group? Are you involved regularly, even daily? If not, the course correction I recommend is to get involved in a community where people are actively pursuing transformation in their lives. If you're already involved, please consider getting more involved.
Share your challenging, specific and inspiring goals with others. And ask community members about theirs. Aim to keep the basis of your community relationships focused on the pursuit and achievement of each of your transformation objectives.

Stay close to and active in your transformation community and don't stray from the herd; especially if you're seeking continual and sustainable progress.

Conclusion

Make no mistake, in our heart of hearts we all want to experience continual growth and betterment of ourselves and our lives. Transformation is an ongoing process that can allow us to move forward in that direction. It's a lifelong journey that can help us continually experience better physical and mental health, as well as emotional and spiritual well-being. However, it only works if we work it. As soon as we take our eye off the ball and move our attention and focus elsewhere (deliberately or accidentally), our growth comes to a standstill, or more accurately put, it begins to regress. And so with this reminder to be on the lookout for transformation trouble before it goes unnoticed for too long, we've got the opportunity to bring our awareness back to the right place. You don't have to wait until you fall back to your before condition to realize that you've gone off course; you can begin to recognize that right here and now. Course correction and being on the lookout for trouble ahead is very much a part of becoming a successful, long-term transformer. As you develop mastery in this skillset, you'll find your results are more consistent, sustainable, inspiring and fun. =)

Joining A Network Marketing Company? Watch Out for Prelaunch!

Some people seem to be forever joining the next ground floor opportunity. And the next and the next and the next ….all of a sudden, somebody who made some money sometime a long time ago …..this one is so good, they came out of retirement for it!

The Blue personality type is especially susceptible to this. You’re looking for excitement, and what could be more exciting than something new? So you just jump, jump, jump, and you’re never in one place long enough to ever build anything. Unless you own the Fountain of Youth, you’re going to get older, just like the rest of us. The worst words to hear in network marketing are: “ground floor opportunity”. Over 90%of the companies that get started, don’t make it 2 years. And most of the rest are goneafter 5 years.

Your chances aren’t much worse playing the lottery.

It’s important to pursue success with a company that has proven it will be around longterm. Pre-launch deals don’t qualify. Only a very small percentage of them will last even 2 years.
Your benchmark should be at least 2 years. It takes that long to knock the cobwebs out of it.
It takes 2 years to get their ducks in a row, to get their campaigns together, to get everything approved in different countries, to get warehouses built, and all that stuff. They’ve already survived a lot of the normal growing pains. They have much better longterm prospects than any “pre-launch”. Make them prove themselves by being around 2years before you commit your time & money to that business.

Perception; Something to Think About

Washington, DC Metro Station on a cold January morning in 2007. The man with a violin played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time approx. 2 thousand people went through the station, most of them on their way to work.

After 3 minutes a middle aged man noticed there was a musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds and then hurried to meet his schedule

4 minutes later:
the violinist received his first dollar: a woman threw the money in the hat and, without stopping, continued to walk.

6 minutes:
A young man leaned against the wall to listen to him, then looked at his watch and started to walk again.

10 minutes:
A 3-year old boy stopped but his mother tugged him along hurriedly. The kid stopped to look at the violinist again, but the mother pushed hard and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children. Every parent, without exception, forced their children to move on quickly.

45 minutes:
The musician played continuously. Only 6 people stopped and listened for a short while. About 20 gave money but continued to walk at their normal pace. The man collected a total of $32.

1 hour:
He finished playing and silence took over. No one noticed. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition.

No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the greatest musicians in the world. He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, with a violin worth $3.5 million dollars. Two days before Joshua Bell sold out a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100.
This is a true story. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste and people's priorities. The questions raised: in a common place environment at an inappropriate hour, do we perceive beauty? Do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognize talent in an unexpected context?One possible conclusion reached from this experiment could be this: If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world, playing some of the finest music ever written, with one of the most beautiful instruments ever made.... How many other things are we missing?

Do You Know Your Target Market?

When you look to find new business partners in a cold mar*ket, you should ONLY ever focus on people actively looking to make m0ney from home. It is a waste of your time to pursue anybody who has not recently demonstrated that desire.

OK. Let's divide "people who want to make m0ney from home" into 2 categories:

1. Those who have experience in M-L-M.
2. Those who don't.

For a lot of reasons, the "Success In 10 Steps" eb00k is targeted to group #1. The book addresses their specific frustrations. This is a group you do not have to explain M-L-M to; they already understand the concept. (And sometimes, the idea of and the reason for seeking "residual inc0me" isn't that easy for people to get.)

You could come up with a lot of other reasons, but the bottom line is that group #1 is just a lot more targeted. There are millions of names in that group, and 99% of them want help. "Success In 10 Steps" is written for them. When they read it, they identify with Michael's story. It's a great tool for you, because it creates people who want to talk with you to get more details.

Are You Succeeding or Failing in Your Business?

EVERY Olympic athlete has a coach. The top ones hire their own personal coach.

I've had my own mentor-coach in network marketing since 2007. Before that I didn't have a clue. One person actually once told me he thought it was a weakness for "people like you to admit that you need a coach to help you."

A weakness???

I replied that having a coach was (and is) one of the smartest things I have ever done.

A coach keeps you accountable and focused. There are just soooooo many opportunities in life to get sidetracked.

How To Choose A Coach

One of my coaches has been married almost 38 years. If he wanted marriage counselling, would he talk to someone who's never been married? How about someone who's graduated from college with 3 or 4 degrees and never been married? Would he go to someone who's been married for 2 years or 5 years, when he has been married for 37 years? Would he go to someone married 10 years, with no children?

Or would he talk to someone who's been married 30 or 40 years or more and who has raised a couple of healthy, happy kids?

Who would you want to get your coaching from? Somebody who has experienced it, or somebody who hasn't?

Many of the coaches today in network marketing have never built an organization. Or they built it 5, 10, 15 years ago, but they can't build it today.

As the old saying goes, "if you can't do, teach."

If you're going to be coached, you want to be coached by somebody who is doing it NOW, someone who is active today.

Here is the truth: there's a lot more money in network marketing than there is in coaching - IF you can actually do network marketing, AND you can do the coaching anyway, while you're building your business.

So why isn't this person in network marketing anymore?

Easy. It's because they can't do it. Plain and simple, they can't build it.

It is completely insane to choose as your coach someone who is not currently successful at network marketing. You are being ripped-off, plain and simple.

One more thing - 90% of these coaches tell you that YOU have to change. They say you have to get out of your comfort zone, become of this "A" type personality. And THAT is the reason it doesn't work.
Those "A" type personalities can go out and do anything and be successful at it. But 92% of the world can't do that. And when you go out there telling them they have to change, it's no wonder there's such a high failure rate in network marketing.

Here's what I think:
1. You're perfect just the way you are.
2. You need belief in yourself, belief in the business.
3. Learn some skills.
4. Take action.

And to coach somebody in network marketing, the biggest thing they need coaching on is their belief. If they don't believe in the industry, their company, or themselves, they fail.

Most top business people have (or once had) a true mentor, someone who's done it before and knows what to do. The person with a mentor has a big advantage. Tom "Big Al" Schreiter and Michael Dlouhy are two of my mentors. I would be honored to be YOUR mentor, no matter what company you are in.

Who is Programming You?

Your mind is being programmed everyday. Either you're doing it yourself, or somebody else is.

If you're not in charge, then you'll really struggle for success in network marketing.

Are you letting the radio, the TV, the internet,the newspaper, or friends & family program you?

If you are, then you are definitely being programmed for lack & limitation.

If you're in your car with the radio on, that radio has a tuner.
You can tune in hundreds of radio stations. Those radio waves bombard you with negativity all day long.

You are being programmed. Do you turn the TV on and just leave it on while you're home?Again, you're getting constant programming. This stuff, at best, is trivial. At the worst, it's very, very negative.

And when you're programmed with negative garbage by radio & TV several hours a day, 7 days a week, 4 weeks a month, 12 months a year, year after year after year - it takes a toll.

You develop a negative outlook on life and your MLM business - often without even knowing it.

My Family
I have 2 boys, one is 5, the other is 7. My 5-year-old starts kindergarten next week. They're into T-ball.

Before the boys, I cooked in restaurants for 15 or 20 years. I did barbecue, hotels, motels, mom and pop restaurants. I enjoy cooking. I like providing good service to people. I used to waitress, too. I've always believed in helping others.

My husband works in a petroleum field. He puts in gas stations, back-up generators for hospitals, He's been doing that for 30 years. He's had his skin cancers from being out in the sun. It's time to bring him home.

$25,000 In Debt In a Hurry
So I was a stay-at-home mom and needed to create some income at home before my youngest son started school. I didn't want to have to go to work for anybody.

I got into network marketing nearly 2 years ago, with a very well-known, established company. They had a pretty excessive monthly commitment to buy product.

Plus I did lead wheels, spending $200 a month for 40 leads. And I did 1.2 million classified ads weekly. So between that and the product, I went about $25,000 in debt.

And then I was trying to figure out why I couldn't do it. I felt like such a failure.

Michael is SO Valuable!
Then a year ago, I answered RoisAnn's ebook ad. I read that and called her. I talked to Michael. I told him I was $25,000 in debt, I had no more money for advertising, and I was looking for answers. I wanted to know why it wasn't working for me.

And he told me it wasn't working because the compensation plan didn't work for me. He explained why. It made sense.

The education I've gotten just from tapping into the training is remarkable. I'm on just about every one of the calls. I hear it over and over again until it's drilled in. I can pretty much tell you what's going to be on each call now. They've even had me host a couple of the Business Briefing calls. It's great experience.

With my first company, most of the leads were just curious, not serious. I had no support from that company as far as 3-way calls. I actually had to talk to people. That sounds strange, but when you're totally new, it's a huge challenge.

That's one thing that makes Michael so valuable. No matter what company you're with, you can get on Michael's live training for free, 5 nights a week. You can listen in when he calls raw prospects and hear how he interacts with them. You'll hear that he never puts any pressure on anyone. He'll email you his script.

It's the best possible training for a new person. And then all your people can do the same thing. All of a sudden, you have a duplicatable system.

My Business Is Building
Now I talk to qualified people. I learned from Michael not to sell them. I give them directions to get on the training calls. I help some of them with their advertising. I do just the free stuff, but it's all in your ad copy. I try to explain that to them. I give them some ideas of what to say.
People are looking for mentoring. I have one ad where I get 5 or 6 good leads a day, name & phone number. I even get leads from Australia and Singapore and the Philippines, all over. So I get better leads now - and more of them - than when I was paying $200 a month. And I created this myself, so they're free.

And I find that the ones that are really serious, no matter where they are or what time it is, they will set their alarm clock to get on Michael's calls. We had a guy from Australia on the call the other night. They make that commitment.

That's what it's about. That's what I'm looking for: people who are serious and willing to make that commitment.

I've learned from Michael not to mess around with the tire-kickers. If they're not serious, this isn't for them. When we talk and they say, "Well, I'll try to get on the call." Or, "I'll get to it next week." And then when I call next week to follow up, "Oh, no, I still haven't had a chance."
"Well, that's OK. This probably isn't for you. When you get time, when you're serious, look over that information. You call me."

And that's the way I go about it.

I used to say, "It's free, it's free. I'll sign you up for free!" And all you wind up with is a whole list of people who aren't doing anything. I just don't have time to waste on people who aren't serious. I have 2 boys. I go to their ballgames & school events. I work around their schedule. If somebody's serious and I see that they need me, they've got my cell phone number. I take it with me, and I make time for them.

Here's What Makes Michael Different
Michael is awesome. He can be hard. But the reason he's hard is to get the point across to you. As he says, he's got very broad shoulders himself. If there's something I don't like of what he's doing, I can always call him and say, "Why did you do it this way?" I can question him. He can understand it.

He's a great inspiration to me. He's totally turned my life around. I guess that's what I was looking for, somebody to be hard on me. He's a REAL mentor.

My other company, somebody would say, "You're not doing enough." And I'd say, "OK." But if Michael says that, I listen. It's the sincerity of his voice, the understanding. He's hard enough to get you to think about what you need to do to be successful. There's something about him I can't really put into words. But when he talks, you listen.

And by applying what he has taught me, my business has increased. I'm getting more qualified people.

Some people find it hard to believe when I tell them about Michael and what he's done and what the whole team is about. They can't believe there's a team out there actually helping people. So all I do is direct them to the training calls and the Coaches Corner call.

I had a gentleman on the Coaches Corner call this past weekend who was totally blown away. It's something he's been looking for for quite some time. He knows what business I'm in, but I strictly talked to him about coaching him and mentoring him in what he's doing. He appreciates that. I don't pressure anyone.

The teaching and mentoring that Michael provides for everybody, I have learned and can pass on to my people. And to people who aren't even in my company. It's wonderful.

And people in my group are doing the same thing. That gets me excited! "Hey! It works!"

It Comes Down To Belief
Michael instill bulletproof belief in you. My belief is back up there where it belongs. I'm coming out of debt. I have income every month. So I know it's working.

I'm happy and very honored to be a part of this. I'm really thankful they came into my life, both of them, RoisAnn and Michael.

I tell people, whether you join my business or not, Michael has made these tools available for people in any company. We can show you how to use these tools Michael has created to build YOUR business, no matter what company you're with.

The Truth About Michael Dlouhy

The White Knight of Network Marketing?

Good grief. Gag me with a spoon. I knew the man before he became "St. Michael." You need to read THIS story ...

I have strong disagreements with Michael, but it’s not personal. I’ve known him since 1997. In person, away from business, he’s a charming, lovable character. Fun, sort of. Almost cartoon-like.
For some reason I can’t quite put my finger on, many people are drawn to him. My wife, for instance. Cheryl thinks he’s great.
Me? I’m at my wits’ end. Michael Dlouhy rubs me the wrong way. Before you think I’m petty or nasty or vindictive, let me tell you some things. This guy is going to irritate the snot out of you, too:

1. Michael Dlouhy spends 7-10 hours a week teaching his own network marketing COMPETITORS every secret he knows. He gives them FREE every tool he uses. His phone calls & e-book show them EXACTLY, step-by-step, how to take business away from him (as if they could) … and then he doesn’t even charge them for the training! (You’ll learn his reasoning for this in a couple minutes.) By all rights, he ought to be standing at some big intersection with his spray bottle, dashing out at red lights, washing your windshield. Heck. He’d probably do THAT for free, too. Here’s his motto: "Take everything I’ve got. Please." Michael trains his own people. He trains people from other companies. He trains people in his own company, but not in his group. It’s all free. It’s all nuts.

But what aggravates me no end is, it works. He spits on the time-tested rules of direct marketing. He makes an absolute fool out of every MLM "Heavy Hitter" on the planet. As incredible as it seems from the way he does business, my suspicion is, next thing he does is fire up his Harley and head off to the bank, saddlebags stuffed with cash. Life isn’t fair. Why the heck isn’t he bankrupt?
2. Michael’s entire income comes from his MLM business. Yet on his conference calls, he NEVER mentions the company name. He NEVER says a product name. He trains his people to NEVER close a sale. He trains them to NEVER recruit. He tells them to NEVER promote to friends & family. And yet they move a TON of product, and they build like crazy! Is this any way to run a business?
Listen. I’ve talked to a bunch of his people. I know his motivation. Michael tells them how he was abused as a kid. His Aunt Honey rescued him and loved him. And now he wants to be Aunt Honey to all these abused network marketers. Oh, brother! Wouldn’t Dr. Phil have a field day with this? If you liked "The Brady Bunch", you’ll love Michael. Bright and cheery 99% of the time. Only when the subject turns to MLM "Heavy Hitters" and direct marketers, THAT is when he gets fire in his eyes and nitroglycerin in his veins. In his e-book, he catalogs every lie they’ve ever told. What drives him is helping all those who’ve dreamed entrepreneurial dreams, and then been fleeced & abused by the evildoers. So when he gives everything away ... it’s an "in-your-face" to the Heavy Hitters.
Heck. Nothing wrong with that. Strong motivation. That’s good. But then he should stick to the profit basics. Instead, off he goes, riding over the countryside. It's The White Knight of Network Marketing, Sir Michael of MLM.
Gag me with a spoon.

And what's he doing? Saving the dreamers from ... WHAT? Now it's MLM VAMPIRES!?
The man has gone round the bend.
3. Michael leaves wonderful, wildly profitable MLM marketing systems on the curb if he can’t use them to build others. People instantly relate to him. They trust him. They’re loyal as all get-out. He makes relationship-building look way too easy. And he trains his people to use his e-book do the same thing.
Michael refuses to acknowledge that business is about profit. If there’s one business certainty, it’s the bottom line. Profit or die. Period.

But Michael is totally unreasonable about this. Oh, he’d never be so rude as to "correct" me when I tell him these things. He just politely listens and then continues to do exactly what he was going to do anyway, which is to build people.

Michael has a thing about numbers. So I’ve told him, "It’s great that you care about people, Michael. But the numbers say, most people fail in network marketing. The numbers say, if you bet everything on your people and they fail, then YOU are down the tubes. The problem with people is, they’re VERY unpredictable.

"But product marketing systems are VERY predictable. We can set up a product marketing system, test it, tweak it, and figure out what gets good performance numbers. Then we can just ride that profit train. It’s much more sensible than betting on people. What if your people don’t make it? What if they don’t build?"
And you know what he tells me?
"They will."
What kind of a Pollyanna answer is that?
4. He comes into MY home, into MY living room, sits in MY chair, and thinks he can outsmart me. Michael lives 200 miles away. So when he’d call to ask if he could drop by, I knew I was going to get a hard sell. I had my excuse list ready. Then he’d show up and talk with Cheryl & me. I have to admit, he can be a warm and engaging storyteller. And no hard sell.
It’s worse.
He just sits there and INTENTIONALLY listens to me.
Very irritating. I’ve heard his Colors training. I know exactly what he’s doing. He doesn’t fool me for a minute. Even so, it’s tough not to blab your head off when someone gets as interested in what you’re saying as Michael does.
So I talk. He listens. He figures me out. Believe me, he LOVES to have that advantage.
5. He doesn’t know when to quit. Michael knew EXACTLY how much he annoyed me, yet he still emailed and called and dropped by from time to time, letting me know that it was perfectly OK if I wanted to work with him … OR NOT!

So it’s OK if I work with him. And it’s OK if I don’t. That’s just wonderful.
I don’t need the aggravation. Really. I didn't give a rat's ass about Michael Dlouhy. Why the heck should he care about me?

And right there, THERE is my problem. I’m very curious.

Several people have told me they lost money in MLM for years before connecting with Michael. Now, they’re profitable. Despite his craziness.
How can that be? How can you give everything away and make a profit?
I had to know. I called him up. We had a very long talk.
And I’m glad we did. Because now I understand better why he does what he does in network marketing. There really is a method to his madness.
Let me give you one example.
Remember how he gives everything away to his competitors, free of charge? He does that because he knows this business. MLM companies come, go and change like crazy. Michael knows that when he builds trust with people, he’s sowing the seeds for working together in the future. Just because a person is in love with their company today doesn’t mean they will be a month or a year or 5 years from now.

And whenever they’re ready to make a change, Michael’s door is open. Good plan, actually.
And, as it turns out, he has a lot of good plans. It shocks me to say this. But the conclusion is inescapable.
Simply, Michael Dlouhy is a networking genius. He is to relationship-building and network marketing what Muhammed Ali was to boxing, what Elvis was to rock ‘n roll, what Bill Gates is to the personal computer. These kinds of people don’t do things the way they’re supposed to. Rules just get in the way of their creativity and obsession with their work.
It took me years to realize what I hate most about Michael Dlouhy. It’s EXACTLY what makes him unique. Michael does not follow anyone else’s rules. He’s almost like a Mother Teresa, searching through the network marketing woods, looking for the orphaned, injured baby MLMer. He takes it in, bottle-feeds it and nurses it to health.
In some ways, Michael is still 6 years old. He thinks every network marketer out there is Bambi, and he’s got to protect them from the Hunter.

6. There are days (I swear this is true) he calls me at 9 am to talk about some marketing idea. I can’t reach him in the afternoon, because he’s on the phone for an hour and a half doing a 3-way call with someone on his 74th level, who he just MUST help. At 8 pm, he’s doing his nightly 1-hour training call (or 2 or 3 hours, depending on how much help his people - AND his competitors! - need). And then he emails me at 3 a.m. When the heck does he sleep?
I once asked Linda Dlouhy when her husband sleeps.
Her answer?
"He doesn’t."
THIS one is personal.
Why should I feel guilty about getting a good night’s sleep?
But in the middle of the night, from the deepest sleep, I suddenly sit bolt upright in bed, eyes wide, sweat dripping, picturing Michael Dlouhy getting ahead of me. He's already on the phone, or at his computer sending emails, or out somewhere saving baby entrepreneurs.
I do a lot of work. I get a lot done. I work hard. But he never stops. He really pisses me off.
7. Michael Dlouhy couldn’t legitimately "market" his way out of a paper bag.

I know a thing or two about direct marketing. I was in marketing guru Jay Abraham’s "Protégé" group, back in 1989.
In 1990, I worked briefly with direct mail geniuses Gary Halbert & John Carlton, writing sales letters for some of Gary’s clients.
In 1993, I got a call from Dr. Joel Wallach at the old "Eagle Investments" MLM. Doc asked me to help him promote his "colloidal mineral" product. I took one of Doc’s old seminar audiotapes gathering dust in his closet, titled it, "Dead Doctors Don’t Lie," and began promoting it.
Eventually, over 200 million "Dead Doctors" tapes were circulated. It’s still the benchmark against which all other network marketing promotions are measured.

In 1996, I wrote the full-page ad, "I REALLY Expected To Be Dead By Now!" This ad appeared in numerous national magazines and many direct mail packages … along with my book, "The Strangest Nutritional Secret!" These pieces brought us a couple million dollars net over the next few years.

Michael, on the other hand, has never created ANYTHING like these pieces.
All he does is build relationships with people, and then he teaches them to do the same thing.
"Build people. People will build your business."

Michael must say THAT 20 times a day. So instead of some mile-wide, inch-thick marketing thingy, he now has tight relationships with hundreds of people who would follow him anywhere.
That absolutely is NOT direct marketing. But it sure makes me wonder if he’s back there behind the curtains, the Wizard of Oz, pulling the levers - laughing at ME!
8. Which brings me to why I REALLY hate Michael Dlouhy. Because as I watch what Michael is doing now, and as I talk to many of his people, I have a realization:
EVERYTHING I did back in the ‘90s, ALL the success, WAS A MISTAKE!
I don’t believe I’m saying this.
Trust me – I’m not being humble. I look at me back then, and I look at Michael, now, and it’s the only logical conclusion. I was using Direct Marketing tactics to do Network Marketing. It worked great, right up until it crashed and burned and our income perished.
Listen. I was never arrogant. In many ways, I was stunned by success. But I did think it meant something. I thought it meant I knew what I was doing.
Wrong.
Oh, I could market, all right. But I didn’t build relationships. I would never, ever shoot Bambi.
But I’d never give her my phone number, either. Let alone go out in the woods and search for her.
So I had a direct marketing mindset, and I was doing a network marketing business. It was doomed from the start. I made a lot of money. So did many of our people. But then, suddenly, it fell apart.

Had I built people rather than income, that business would still be going strong today.
Live and learn.
So here I am, years later. I find myself working with Michael, learning from him.
It's not always easy. We have very different viewpoints. I've been in this industry, off and on, for almost 30 years. And it's definitely tough to teach an old dog new tricks.
But Michael has certainly convinced me that to build an MLM that lasts, you MUST build relationships. You MUST build people. I’ve learned that from him, and I appreciate it.
Look. I won't go into details. But Michael has PROVEN to me that he is 100% committed to my success using his system.
Pretty smart. Astonishing, really. He's turned me from a skeptic into a raving Michael Dlouhy fan.
After all these years, I now have a mentor. If you’re smart, you’ll let Michael teach you, too. He will train you every inch of the way until you're successful in MLM.

Why It Is Not Your Fault!

I hope you are having a great beginning to the month of April! I feel that I need to share this information with you.

You may have been aware of Mentoring for Free for weeks, months or year's. You know that I use the training, team support and Mentoring on a Daily basis to secure my business.
